E hook will fit 1-2 pound preemie. Work in all loose ends. G hook will fit 3-4 pound preemie.
Row 1: Ch 32. Dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 3 chs, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, *dc in next 6 chs, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch. Repeat from * across. Dc in last 4 sts. Ch 2, turn. (34 dc/4-ch 1 spaces)
Rows 2 – 5: Hdc in each st across with (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in ch 1 space of previous row. Ch 2, turn. (42 sts/50 sts/58 sts/66 sts)
Row 6: (Sleeve row) Hdc in each st to ch 1 space, hdc in ch 1 sp, skip all sts to next ch 1 space, hdc in ch 1 space. Hdc in each st to ch 1 space, hdc in ch 1 space, skip all sts to next ch 1 space, hdc in ch 1 space. Hdc to end of row. (Change colors here is you wish) Ch 2, turn. (38 sts)
Row 7: 1 hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st. (1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st) across. Hdc in last 3 sts. Ch 2, turn. (50 sts)
Rows 8 – 17: Dc in each st across. Ch 2 turn. At end of Row 17, end off.
Row 18: (Leg tab). Attach yarn with a sl st to the 21st dc on Row 17.
Ch 2, dc in same st, dc in next 9 sts. Ch 2 turn. (10 sts)
Row 19: Dec first st, dc across to last 2 sts, dec last 2 sts. Ch 2, turn. (8 sts)
Row 20: Repeat Row 19. (6 sts)
Rows 21 – 22: Dc in each st across. (6 sts)
Row 23: 2 dc in first st, dc in each st across, 2 dc in last st. End Off. (8 sts)
Leg Ties: Ch 32, sc in first dc on Row 17. Sc across to leg tab (20 sc). Working down side of tab, work 2 sc in side of each row of leg tab (12 sc). Sc in first dc of Row 23. Chain 4, skip 2 sts, sc in next 2 sts, ch 4, skip 2 sts and sc in last st. Work 2 sc in side of each row on other side of tab (12 sc). Sc in next st of Row 17. Sc in each st across to end, Ch 32, end off. To tie leg tab, place ch 32 through the ch 4 loop; repeat other side. Tie into a bow.
Neck Ties: Ch 32, sc in back of first st; sc across neck line. Ch 32, end off. Tie into a bow.
For girl’s gown:
Follow the above pattern to Row 17.
Rows 18 – 22: Dc in each dc across. At end of Row 22, ch 1 turn.
Row 23: Sc in first st, *sk 1 st, (2dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next st, sk 1 st, sc in next st. Repeat from * across. End off. Work in loose ends.
Follow the above directions for neck ties.
